Problems
Problems
Building a more sustainable music & love community
Creators face unstable income streams, limiting their ability to finance and promote their work. While moderate commercialization can expand music’s reach, traditional donation and crowdfunding models often suffer from transparency issues, undermining trust and support for charitable initiatives.
Financing Challenges
DJs struggle to secure funds for both music creation and community initiatives.
Unsafe Fund
Traditional models often lack transparency, making it hard to track and trust fund usage.
Lack of Management
Poor management leads to inefficient use of resources and reduced trust.
Goals
Easy to Understand
Keep everything simple for users who are first-time Web3 users.
Data Transparency
Let people know what’s happening, be open and transparent.
Community Engagement
Have people to participate and be active members of the community.
Problem Statement
How to use a decentralized DAO platform to bring DJ fans together for financing music and community projects in a transparent, open, and efficient way.
Solution Preview
Join a DJ club
Users can explore various clubs, join their favorites, and discover even more opportunities to connect.
Choose a task to complete from dashboard
Users can view the dashboard and navigate to the task they wish to complete.
View all campaigns
Users can preview campaign details and choose the ones that interest them.
Contribute for a campaign
When users want to support a campaign, they can contribute, and their contributions will be processed transparently.
Product Structure
User Flow
Extract tasks and content users really need from a 8-page PRD. We restructured existing functions and decided to add a "Starter" function based on the existing framework.
Redesigning the Key Feature - Voting
Issues
Technical constraints on third-party framework integration
We are utilizing the Ink Finance framework, which requires integrating its existing architecture while enhancing the user experience.

Designing New Campaign Feature
Design
Adapt similar UX pattern for campaign feature
I led the design of a new feature, utilizing a similar pattern with adaptations to successfully address a new task.
Adaptation 2 & 3
UX psychology
Psychology of herd mentality
The phenomenon where individuals tend to mimic the actions or behaviors of others when they observe a group of people engaging in a common activity.
Psychology of reciprocity
People feel the need to reciprocate when they receive something. If we provide details and info first, users could be more willing to provide something.
Stakeholder Management
Spot problem
Unpleasant paying experience
During the UX review, I saw the disclaimer forced agreement to all terms before proceeding, which made the process unpleasant and caused me to lose interest.
Pushback
User experience returns the good
Let's consider the user's situation: they've already invested effort in understanding the project details before the CTA. The disclaimer, created by lawyers to protect the platform, doesn’t benefit them. Therefore, I convinced the team to accept the change.
Impact
Impact
Your love for the beats helped transform lives across borders
RaveDAO is a global rave community hosting events alongside Web3 conferences, donating 20% of its income to charities like a Nepal eye school. They aim to expand their influence and build a sustainable community through this project.
20% Donation - Rave for Light
Currently we are supporting Tilganga Eye Centerand Nalanda West, funding eye surgeries for patients in remote region of Nepal and supporting wellness and educational programs worldwide.
Takeaways
Learnings
Achieving the goal with the simplest design
Keep things simple and be careful with changes to existing framework. A small change might result in a lot work for technical teams, we should respect everyone's effort.
Considering source, requirement and users' needs for data design
Some crypto data are very difficult to obtain due to the nature of blockchain. We need to find a balance between users' needs and technical constraints
